Persian Sofflower

Safflower is a plant that reaches approximately 60 centimeters in height, with broad, toothed leaves and no stem branches. Safflower seeds contain protein and about 60% oil, which is a beneficial oil for nutrition.

Safflower is recognized as one of the essential medicinal herbs, and it also has various culinary applications. It is used in the dyeing industry as well. This plant is native to Iran and is currently cultivated in most parts of the world, especially in regions of southern Iran such as Shahdad in Kerman, where it is grown extensively.
